No Wonder

For the first time since I bought it last year, I was able to wear this comfy and edgy tanned leather jacket. I was so excited to wear this out! Paired it with a thrifted jumper for added insulation since it’s getting cold in here. I was out to visit a friend and decided to take shots at this lovely Victorian houses. My man bag is from the thrift as well. Guess how much I got it for? A dollar! Such a crazy steal for a leather bag. Score!

I kept the whole outfit simpler to let the jacket shine on it’s own. It’s the star of this look.

I haven’t gotten tired of looking down for my outfit shots yet. I’ll get over it when I discover a new way to showcase my facets. Lol.

I really don’t have anything to blabber about aside from the fact that I am bored as hell. Haha. I just love dressing up for nothing. Have you been in that mood where you just wanna be and feel like you’re a rockstar? This is it. Haha.

Begin Again, Denim

Let me begin with denim again, sorry for the repetitiveness that I am! Haha. What can I do? I am addicted to denims. My jacket is denim and my bag is too. God, so redundant! But whatever I know what I want.  I scored this denim jacket from a garage sale for $5 which I blogged it here too.

I just love this ensemble. The basicness(if there is such a word) of this outfit is what it’s all about. This is what I am, a basic bitch. Haha. Black is such on fire in my style inspiration notice board. You can easily go chic with this. But I promise on my next post I will think of something else! Haha.

Downtown Melbourne

From downtown Melbourne, you can find this alley of graffiti walls in Bourke Street. This is like the Harlem of Melbourne(if I may put it). Most often, you can find others getting their Instagram moments taken here.  It is a perfect spot to take your OOTDs and whatnot. Yeah, got mine done here obviously! Haha.

I just thought I have been wearing a  lot of denims. As denim, don’t get out of style and it’s so easy to wear. Not much fuss about styling. The acid washed top from Cotton On gave all denim ensemble a touch of edge. I got this really good quality Saxony cardigan from Savers for just $10. So stoked when I saw this and a certain must have for fall and winter. I don’t really get tired of this bow down pose! It’s my angle I suppose haha. I don’t have much angles so I go for it each time. I mean what else should I do? Haha.

Moving on, I am on this stage of my life where I am getting tired of doing things that I am not passionate about. It will definitely get to you either way so I am taking it seriously in planning my career move. I want to be in the style world and I don’t want to get stuck on life choices I have made. As they say, if you are really passionate about something go for it and make it happen. But it’s always  easier said. You got to plan everything first before making the big jump. But I won’t wait for eternity that’s for certain.

Layer, Layer on the Wall

It is starting to get chilly down under (Australia, not what you think it is ). Layering up to trap some body heat, I have used my not widely used vest from Oxygen and my ever dependable grey sweater.
I managed to write something up today. Thank God! There is just this laziness and stress overload that I have been stricken by. Not good but I am trying.

What I am trying to achieve in this ensemble is the minimalism. Greys and black. Neutral colours are so basic that you can wear them everyday. As they say, you can never go wrong with black. What I love about this outfit is the addition of the layer piece which without it the whole look will look like a drab. It gives a little edge or fashion forwardness if I can say that.

And here is to hope to get these creative juices going! God save me from this quicksand of laziness that I am in!

Initially

Unconsciously, I guess I am mostly drawn towards denim. Just last week I stopped by a garage sale near our unit and managed to score a vintage denim jacket for 5 bucks!
(which I have been looking for, for such a long time now). I used to see a lot of these in the thrift when I was in the Philippines but knowing that it is pretty humid to wear those in the streets I just pass them up.

This time it is beginning to warm up already for summer. But it still gets a little chilly sometimes. Melbourne weather is pretty moody like an old lady. I just went with this all denim ensemble. The top is a thrifted Izzue brand which was one of my favorites. Then I just wore a navy blue Tee from Levis and my dependable ASOS extreme super skinny jeans. My shoes are from Zara which I didn’t think I will wear again as it was really tight and kills my toes badly but after I breaking them in, they are okay now.

I thought that my style is becoming more subtle and less flashy like before. Well, I can say my style matures too. I opt for more basics now and staple pieces which can translate to a lot of occasions. I have stocked up mostly on basic T shirts( I think I’m overdoing it now). I’m trying some minimalism now.

Oh my, I have been so lazy to be honest with you but also really busy with work now. This is my first post of the year! I am active on Instagram if you can follow me @knyfortaleza. Will keep trying my hardest to post more!

#OOTD: Nightmare on Maud Street

I did a denim on denim styling here. I tried to use different wash of denim to show off their varied wash and to somehow camouflage the shirt as not being denim. Joggers have been on trend too. It has been a trendy design on classic pair of trousers like the smart jersey jogger pants I wore from my previous post. I am not a fan of drop crotch pants but this Cotton On joggers fit me like a glove. The skinny fit sold me because it doesn’t look too drop crotch when it sits in my thighs.

These outfit posts sometimes are just non sense right? But it’s just what is on my mind. I just want to share my style and hoping to inspire people to be themselves. I pull my confidence from what I wear so I really try to dress up even for a walk to the grocery.

About the look:
Jacket from H&M (Bought this from Malaysia)
Denim shirt from the thrift (I only got this for 2 bucks!!)
Jeans from Cotton On (was on sale)
Shoes from Roger David (was on sale for 15 bucks!)

#OOTD: Grayed Out

One day, I just decided to get dressed for success. If you are to claim your win, you must be prepared and by that I meant like this. I started to assemble this look with my new smart joggers from ASOS. It is a good spin on a very formal suit pants. The cuffing on the ankles made it casual and cool. I just picked out several gray tone from my closet and decided to use my ASOS navy blazer which comes really handy when you need it. For my shoes, I went with my Zara Oxfords which are so sturdy and classy.

I am planning on starting a Youtube vlog! I am not certain if it will work out but I guess I am going to find out when I start filming! Haha. I am camera shy though. Good luck with that.

Leather Kind of Love

Sanderson Leather Biker Jacket from All Saints.

Jasper Leather Biker Jacket from All Saints.

Leather jackets are worthy of the splurge. These are investment pieces that can last a lifetime and can be your heirloom as well. Hand it over to the next generation down on your family tree, it instantly becomes a vintage piece. All Saints clothing has a wide range of pieces from menswear to womenswear. I absolutely adore these two in particular.

These jackets can instantly make a simple or boring piece look more interesting. Imagine these outfits without the jacket. It   just leaves them to a casual daily look. As they say, you can never go wrong with black. I reckon if women have their lifesaver little black dress, us guys have black leather jacket. You can wear almost anything with it.

The Super-Skinny-Jeans State of Mind

The currency of my creative mind tells me that I am obsessed with super skinny jeans. That of from ASOS, I was reluctant to try their stuff as I don’t have the chance to fit them but after several tempting moments, I got down and purchased myself a pair on my birthday(to have an excuse to shop). I must say, I am quite distressed of not receiving an invitation. Corny jokes aside, I was extremely happy about the purchase. I bought their Extremely Super Skinny Jeans line in true blue I suppose. It hugs really tight to your body but you can still sit down without cutting circulation.

Although the fit might not be someone else’s cup of tea, I don’t really care much as I am really satisfied and felt really confident wearing it. That’s the bottom line of fashion. As long as you feel like you can carry yourself with anything, go for it! It didn’t bother me that I might look like a sausage from the extremely tight fit. But pair it with a slightly loose or boxy top to balance out the outfit. To maybe hide out your jewels if it gets really tight.

This isn’t a sponsored post of ASOS. But let me share with that they are having 20% off on regular priced items. You just need to download their mobile app. This promo is available thru mobile only. Just key in MOBILEAPP at checkout.

A tip for those interested in purchasing a pair of these, if you don’t like a super snug fit but still want this cut just size up about 1-2 sizes. These pair are right up my alley as they don’t flare like most other skinny jeans. It is so unflattering  and uncomfortable when I see my pants flaring like its not supposed to! So, I really recommend this. A must have for me.

Shopping is the New Yoga

Lately, I am scrambling myself over the web for good finds. Online stores like ASOS, Urban Outfitters, Aliexpress and Zalora have a wide arrays of selection for men. The convenience of not having to work your lower body muscles just to score a best buy in stores is the plus factor for online shopping. And a lot them offers free shipping at a price point which is awesome. Right?

What I usually do when shopping online is to rummage thru the sale tab and start from there. Because you might find some pieces that you have been lusting for forever only to find them on sale! I also make rounds and check working discount coupons online that can save you some bucks.

Meanwhile in ASOS, I was going gaga over these pair of gladiators! Since its about to get hotter here in the Southern Hemisphere, this is a good addition to my wardrobe. These are perfect to pair up with shorts and a dressier top to get that casual chicness I see mostly in the streets here in Melbourne. It retails at AUD $57.

Also, this ASOS cropped extreme super skinny jeans is a staple and a must have. My favourite skinnies from Oxygen is getting worn off already so I might be putting this in the cart already! And ASOS is having a 70% off sale and an additional 10% off on top of that, you just need to key in 10MORE as promo code! This is about AUD $38 on sale plus a 10% off of that which I thought is a  pretty good deal. Splurge now here or regret later!

This Penshoppe shirt(below) is from another online store called Zalora. I am quite amazed at the wide selection of Mens shirts there. Plaids are all the rage right now and to play up on the grunge fest especially for those having the fall season right now- this is definite fall must have! So stock up on these. You can style this just by tying  it around your waist and just wearing a statement tee and skinny jeans.

I am in love with this contrast sleeves shirt from 24:01(below). It looks so sleek and expensive (it is affordable at AUD$30 or Php 1199). Simply dress it up with those tailored chinos or dress it down wearing shorts. I’m obsessed!

Splurge now or regret later! Take a look at Zalora’s big range of men’s shirts here

Whilst online shopping does not allow us to do what yoga is supposed to do but your horizon for available markets is going to get a stretch. I shall leave you then guys and I have a lot of stretching to do! xox

Aspiring in Spring

Spring has sprung. This is my second spring time here down under. Definitely, I have been excited for this season as I can really go out without being too covered up and worrying to have a jacket always ready at your side. But I really loathe summer is because it is barbecue hot! Like seriously, I wouldn’t even dare going out.

It is that time to get those shorts and get your cotton on! Yeah, I connect that with my outfit today which is mostly from Cotton On. I was really on my feet to go out today and enjoy the sun.

Sometimes, negative comments get to me so deep I tend to curl up and do self-pity. But after this stage, I just try to learn from it and just be wiser this time. Failures are supposed to make us better and not bitter. Without failures, success I reckon would be impossible. No one will make that iPhone 6 Plus not to be bendable. Of course after that bend gate scandal they will definitely do something about it. Just look life as that. Haha. I mean I should.

What I wore: Cardigan, Denim Top, Skinny jeans from Cotton On, Boat Shoes from the thrift, bag from Sirrico, Watch from Tomato

High Waisted Society

This high waited look that I stumbled upon from Billboard’s post for Lollapalooza, makes me want to get my own pair of high waisted denims. A lot of women have worn high waisted shorts or denims but for men seldom have I seen them wear it. It’s actually pretty cool and hip. Is it really back??? This is Cole Doman at the festival wearing vintage Kokorokoko.

Love it or hate it.  But I might go to the thrift this weekend and score one of this. Spring is just around the corner here and I can definitely tie this in my wardrobe. Maybe, tuck some printed collared shirts in there.

#OOTD: The Grunge

Went downtown to check out a local op shop (they call thrift stores, Op Shop here in down under), luckily got some cool stuffs there! So stoked. My friend Kristyl and I never really expected to find good finds there but we were wrong. Maybe I can make a post of my current thrift haul next week if I don’t get lazy. Haha. Thanks to Kristyl for taking the shots here. Love them!

Anyways, grunge trend sort of grew on me and I decided to give it a go. And so I worked around my only flannel shirt and paired it with my red cardigan from Cotton On. For my trousers, I wore this track pants that I got from the thrift which was from MNG. It was a good find and I use it quite often. And just went with my rubber shoes for a more casual look.

Hope you guys liked my look! You can hype this on my lookbook account.

#OOTD: Untitled

Yesterday, I got sucked by Lookbook’s hot #ootd posts. So I got inspired and got my style on. In this ensemble I tried to add formal by tucking the shirt and accented it with a brown belt to also match the jacket. The jacket was a newly thrifted piece from Savers. I really like this jacket it’s so warm and the earth tone colour did make me like it even more. The jacket was a 90’s inspired look which I think is coming back. I reckon. I rolled up my pants and went without socks to have that casual vibe and just went with my very dependable black sneakers from Stray.

And a friggin selfie of course!!! Haha.

Happy Sunday everyone!

#OOTD: Jeans Dean

It’s my nod to denim and it’s iconic contribution to the fashion world. The top is a thrifted piece I got from the Philippines while my favorite tight fitting jeans are from Oxygen Clothing, one of my go-to brands in the Philippines. Oh how I missed shopping there! The black jacket is my staple outerwear when I can’t think anything else to pair with my outfit. It’s so versatile that it can fit into any ensemble given that it was just a thrifted piece I got for 100 pesos or like 2 bucks?

Went full on denim on denim in this #ootd post. I went with this light washed denim shirt to have a contrast with my darkly washed denim skinny jeans. To also camouflage that it is not a jean shirt is my goal in this ensemble. Tbh, I really like how the simplicity of this ensemble came together. It’s so me! hehe.

I hope you guys liked my OOTD post.

The “I’m quite distressed denim shirt”!! haha

Forget about the mess of this toilet! hahaha.

and my ridiculous smile here! I look terrible but I still uploaded it. haha.
