Layer, Layer on the Wall

It is starting to get chilly down under (Australia, not what you think it is ). Layering up to trap some body heat, I have used my not widely used vest from Oxygen and my ever dependable grey sweater.
I managed to write something up today. Thank God! There is just this laziness and stress overload that I have been stricken by. Not good but I am trying.

What I am trying to achieve in this ensemble is the minimalism. Greys and black. Neutral colours are so basic that you can wear them everyday. As they say, you can never go wrong with black. What I love about this outfit is the addition of the layer piece which without it the whole look will look like a drab. It gives a little edge or fashion forwardness if I can say that.

And here is to hope to get these creative juices going! God save me from this quicksand of laziness that I am in!

Just Your Ordinary Collective Haul

Thank God my floral obsession came to life. I unearthed this floral t-shirt at a local boutique here in Angeles City for Php 400. The print I thought was too large it makes you look a little bigger but that’s just fine. But hey it’s not that bad.

I admit that I am so attached with the grey or black ensemble. However, I want to move out of my comforts and wanted to be more adventurous and risky with my style choices. This retailed Php 150 at the thrift store. This Koi-inspired sweatshirt is that perfect mix of colours that will definitely light up the room when I wear it! Haha.

OMG. Digging this skull cardigan! Bought this for just Php 130. I mean it’s that combo of edge and casual which I love. Can’t wait to wear this! I mean not now in the summery weather.

ASOS has been bringing good and quality clothing to their costumers via their online store. I stumbled upon this jean shirt with plaid detail which was a bit too tight on me but still I went with it. This retailed at AUD 7 at Savers. I can’t stop purchasing denim tops. I mean they are one of the timeless pieces so I can’t have too many denim tops right? Lol #makingexcusesformyself

Flannel is in! This wool and cotton fabric can make you feel warm during autumn or winter. I have thought of styling this by tying it around your waist. But this could be a style essentials too during music festivals. Just pair this up with a tank top wear it as is and have a rolled up shorts and boots and you’re ready. And if you get sweaty and stuff you can remove it and tie around your waist which is like a 90s style identifier. Is it 90s? or 80s? whatever. Still it keeps your style game up a notch And got this for Php 180.

Mirror Selfie Confessions

During Boxing Day, I wore this pretty relaxed ensemble. You have to be comfortable since you’ll be roaming around the city rummaging for amazing deals and whatnot. There were good deals but I was a little disenchanted because there wasn’t really stuff that would grab your attention for the price they are asking.

However, just when you thought the day is over I saw these two stuffs. I got the neclace from Lovisa. Lovisa has heaps of cool stuffs specifically for women but I don’t really care.

Super Adorbs!!!
Skull Ring from Lovisa. A present from my friend Clara.
The gold tusk like necklace from Lovisa.
Thrifted H&M Top
Thrifted Mango Track suit pants
Customized Oxford flats
Necklace by Lovisa

Floral Domination

These floral prints have been here for a while and I haven’t been blogging about them but they are now! Been living under a huge rock that’s why. Lol. Florals are all the rage right now even for men. I admit I am not really feeling this prints even before as they are too girly for my taste. But I really really love them right now. They have that vintagey and elegant casual feel to it.

I feel that they are so chic and on trend. At French Connection in Melbourne Central, I found a graphic tee which I really love but was too expensive for my style. It is printed against a black background which I was rooting for because its not screaming that too feminine. Just that perfect mix.

Paging sponsors! Lol

I love love this!!!

This is a Balenciaga Floral Tee.

I am planning to have this print to get printed into a black tshirt. I hope it gets done. Lol

Raging Emotions of A Dude (R.E.D.)

Summer is dropping like flies here and the temperature is rising above 40 degrees hotter than the Philippines!

With this look, I wore this red lightweight cardigan from Cotton On to prevent the heat from directly hitting my skin and paired it with a thrifted printed Topman shirt from Savers. The tailor-made grey shorts and customised brown boots sealed the look. I know that it’s hot and some of you will wonder why I opted for the boots instead of a sloppy tongs or flats. I just thought to give my look a touch of excitement and my style. I hope you like it as much I did. I took the chance to be photographed against these two red hot cars! Lol. I love red.

What’s on my mind: Red is the colour of fire, power, and war. A colour of little to no silence. That is perfectly inside what’s inside my head right now. Sleep will only be my recourse to escape from it not drugs. I just want to be sanely perfect when I think.

I really wouldn’t mind if this were my car! LOL.

Bumpa to Bumpa!

I just love the effect I made with this photo.
Photo Credits to my Inay, Clara! Hahaha.

Black Summer

The first blind mice!
Went shopping at Coles! The SM Hypermarket here in Australia. hehehe.

The sun is up here in Australia. But you’ll never know the weather shift in a few hours. I decided to wear this thrifted Mango suit tights from Salvation Army and and a black plain top from Folded and Hung. At first, I was drawn to wear an all black ensemble but it’s just too heavy for summer so I decided to put some extra pop of colour and added up the brown boots from Cotton on and a thrifted Bershka Man cardigan which made the look more casual than too serious for summer.

Although I am loving this outfit, I was so conscious of the super tight-fitting pants and top that shows off something down there hahaha. I keep on pulling my shirt down or putting my bag in front of me. Haha. I guess I’ll know better next time. A loose top and a tight fitting pants.

I miss blogging! Sorry for being such a lazy ass. And I just have too many things on my plate too right now.

First

The first few baby steps are the most crucial time for an infant who is learning to walk. The same goes with any new situation or a new person you just met. It will be hard to establish balance as you are still exploring how to gain that balance or trust if you like. The more you give yourself a practice to walk the better you will get each time. Well, I am just on that stage right now getting my balance here in Australia with no one to hold on to except yourself and yourself. But you have your friends as your support. Even if my stay here was pretty awesome as to this writing, a time will come when you will yearn for the people who are dear to you, people from your home.

Back in the days when I was wishing to be here, I am becoming impatient and hopeless for my future here. And what do you know I am writing this pretty melodramatic post here in Australia. Finding your niche is the most arduous task of all.

Now back to the fun part. I don’t know how I managed to pull this look. As you guys know I am all about casual ensembles but having to look like a million bucks in suit is a little bit out of my comfort zone. I started this look with my chocolate brown suit pants from Cotton On which I bought for 10 bucks such a deal. And then I started pairing it with my shirts and this blue chambray top fitted well with the brown pants. Paired this with my thrifted blazer and lace-up shoes from Salvation Army and ebay.

The David G. Pose. Lol.

My new sanctuary in North Balwyn!

So do I look like a manager in Coles? Hahaha. I wish I am.

I came here with 1 luggage and 2 hand carry bags and this was 127 days after and counting. Haha. I still have 2 boxes not included in this picture Haha. Imagine hoarding!

I am still hoping to be in the Philippines this Christmas or it could just be a wish for now? Lol

I am a Fashion Citizen

I have been thrifting for years now and it’s been so much fun and exciting! Some people don’t get it why but it just that surprise to find exciting and unique pieces from other people’s closet and whatnot.

I grabbed your photo cover on FB! haha. No copyright intended. :)
And I was so bored and have been wanting to go to thrift shops here in Melbourne. So I searched Youtube for some inspiration, I watched a few men’s thrift hauls but I am not satisfied haha. Then, I got to see the thrift hauls from the girls and happen to find The Fashion Citizen by Stephanie and Melissa. And I was instantly hooked! Their thrift hauls gave me what thing I am looking for. Though their hauls are womenswear I didn’t really mind because every time they do their hauls they always get pieces which are unique and not the usual thing one would gravitate into. I thought that was really interesting. This is my recent obsession.

Stephanie has the looks of Carly Rae Jepsen and Lady Gaga in a good way of course. Love her edgy fashion forward style! Wish I could transition that into menswear. While Melissa has that good mix of flair and sweetness. I love how the way she talks. And Melissa and Stephanie are actually twins! Actually surprised when I knew!!

I just love that I could relate with them. Frugal fashionistas! I am a fan now. Love you girls. :)

Here are few of my favourite videos with that awesome Prada Haul!

And this is haul video is just crazy. They got everything for just 3 bucks! And plus that awesome foldable duffle bag.

The Salvation Army Haul

My latest Thrifting Chronicle article!

From my latest thrift haul, I got these awesome goods. Salvos is an opportunity shop that sells all sorts of goods from home furnishings, utensils, and down to my favourite section the clothes! There are amazing things in there you just have to keep your eyes wide open and be open minded. You will surely have a great time shopping.

This first item is a tuxedo-like blazer tailor made from ASOS. At first it didn’t really struck me really but when I tried it on, it sure did fitted me like a glove. Though there was a little fit issue on my arms but it’s Still a Steal! Gladly got a good item that will surely last. That will give me a run for my money.

Sorry I am so fatty now! hahaha.

Meanwhile my second steal was this belt. It really looks cool. It has this old, rugged look which makes me really want it.

Lastly, this geometrically printed shirt is relatively simple and the fit was good on me. Just right for scorching summer heat here down under. I got these for half the price so yes! Such a steal!!

I didn’t include the prices because I might get smacked down by my Mom. Hahaha. Love you Mama!

It Pays to have Good Bottoms

After an enormous time off the blogosphere, my hauls got stacked up in the closet. And now is their time to scream and shout and let it all out. Haha. No, their time to shine!

My first item is this maroonish red boat shoes that I got from a thrift store near the hospital which I had my placement. Thank God there’s something good went with that placement Haha. #kidding I got these for just $5. A total best buy!

Style tip: Best paired with shorts for the summer and spring but could also be paired with a rolled up pants with or without socks. You could actually style this with printed socks that would complement your outfit which could give your ensemble a kick.

Or go sockless. Get ready for major smelly foot. Haha. I recommend wearing foot socks.
Being the house for the retail brand Cotton On, Australia got heaps of factory outlets. And luckily I laid my eyes on these pair of Chukka/dessert boots initially worth $10 and when I got to the counter I was even more surprised that it was just for 5 bucks! How lucky can you get? Well…

Style tip: With boots you can go anything with it. Wear it with tight fitting jeans or shorts. You can’t go wrong. Or be adventurous by putting on a printed socks.

Woot woot! My not insured legs Haha.

Love this shot from the beach!

#OMG, shopping, shopping and shopping. And shopping again. Jeez, shopping. Thank you for shopping! Hahaha! More to come.

The Twin Towers of Fun

When travelling it is essential to have a decent place to stay in after being on your feet in exploring the city. The Grid 19 Hotel was the best hotel. The price is good for a pretty awesome stay! I love the look and ambiance of it. It is not the fancy ones which you get intimidated by. I highly recommend this and I would want to stay in this hotel in the future.

Trying to be a VJ. Lol They surely have a great interior decorator and an awesome architect! I love every detail this common area has.

The room. Modern and sophisticated. 5 stars for me.

Who would not get a selfie at the mirror?

They even have a free computer area with fine gadgets like tablets and PCs.  Plus this pool table.

The Legit Model, Gwen Gamboa!

Ain’t ready to be a model. Lol

Of course, you gotta taste their food.  Their version of Halo-halo!

At the Pavilion.

With our swollen feet making our way to the Walking Street. I should’ve brought my slippers!

The Majestic Twin Towers, The Petronas Towers.

And I won’t let it pass an opportunity for an #OOTD!

I am wearing a epauletted black shirt from H&M.
Thrifted sleeveless shirt.
Shorts from Cotton On.
Thrifted boat shoes.
Bag from Sirrico.

After this trip, I discovered a new passion. Traveling!
