Kenny and the City

So the day started, I went to the Victoria State Library to get some errands done. They have free internet there, an array of desktops for all to use. Thank you to the government. Lol. But I have my machine so I just needed a wifi connection.

I just happen to snapshot this awesome view as I went inside the library.

After I got bored, my senses told me to do some window shopping at H&M at Melbourne's GPO. I must say the display was classy and cool. I haven’t seen such sophistication with other H&M stores I have been to but it may also be because of the buildings architecture and historical heritage. Buildings here in Melbourne are being restored and preserved to really bring in the ambience of Australia.

This is the top view from the Men’s department at the second floor. Quite a sight to see actually.

And then there was me. There are real trees inside like leaves falling while you flick through the racks.

I decided to be casual that day. Got some heaps of things to carry like my laptop and other stuff.
WHAT I wore?
1. Flannel top that I thrifted when I had my vacay in the Philippines. (Wow, VACAY! Yes, I am claiming it!)
2. plain black singlet from Folded and Hung
3. Moss green pants from Uniqlo (the first Uniqlo flagship store has just opened here down under a week after H&M opened their first flagship store as well) Indeed, Melbourne is the shopping capital now.
4. Stray rubber shoes from Roger David.  I got only for 15 bucks at a sale. It resembles those New balance shoes I have been drooling on.

And the mannequins are…….everywhere.

And capped the night with this breathtaking skyline of Melbourne!

See ya all next time!

All Alone

Started to work with the black pants first and tried on several shirts for the top and then it all came together. I am attending my best friends’ wedding, Cente and Tel which we have been preparing for months. The attire is strictly Barong Tagalog for the men but yes I was given permission by the bride to wear what I want. Ha! She really is my best friend. Haha.

The ensemble is looking smart casual than formal but I think it did look like that because I rolled up the sleeves and unbuttoned the shirt. Forgive me but it is really a hot day so those are necessary to survive the wedding at the Church.

I am nowhere near the jungle, but the lipstick jungle. Kidding. This was shot at our backyard. I was thinking of wearing a black belt but I thought it’s boring so I opted for the brown. By the way, this slim belt is reversible if you change your mind and you want black then just twist it and you’re good. I really like that functionality. It gives you convenience and it’s a price of one for two.

Meanwhile, I wasn’t intending on having brown for my accessories it just happened. And it went well I think. I love my addition of the clutch.

And before I forget, I would like to thank my friends for ditching me on the wedding! I understand but yes it sucks to be alone. And common it’s our friend’s wedding.  You guys are awesome! haha. Kidding. :)

What I wore: Jean Top and pants from Uniqlo, Belt from The SM Store, Shoes custom made, Leather clutch custom made, Specs from Giordano

Hype this look on lookbook! Please? Lol.

Elmo’s Fire

I do hope that what happened this day will turn out so well. Hopefully that is! We fought for so so long and this time we are looking positively into having a resolution to an epic battle for our rights. No one can bring you down unless you permit them to. Go, speak and stand up.

I love this street casual ensemble. Finally, I got the chance to wear this fun cutesy Elmo T-shirt that I bought from a thrift store. I used the t-shirt the centre of the ensemble. And because I don’t want to look so serious that’s why I injected a little fun into the whole outfit. The pinstriped muted blue top shirt was from Uniqlo. I paired this with a wool shorts perfect for a hot weather. For the bottoms, I put on my favourite oxford flats that squeezed in some preppy.

Winning is only half of it. Having fun is the other half.

Under Repair

I got these two straight cut pants a year ago from thrift shopping. I almost wanted to get rid of them because I don’t have enough space for my clothes. Yes, I need bigger space now for more goodies. Haha. However, the colors of these trousers are so in this season that it got me thinking that I can just have it repaired from an alteration store. At last today, I got them repaired and I will be picking them up at 3pm. Really, I am super excited about the fit and to incorporate them in my wardrobe. But when I tried them on, I don’t feel good about the bottom half of the pants. It needs to get skinnier so I sent them again for repair. Then, it fits impeccably. Thanks to Mr. Tailor.

The first one is a Lee Jeans straight cut trouser. It is in khaki brown and in stretch fabric. I don’t know what they call that fabric but I know it is a denim. So, this Lee jean can turn into a skinny one I told myself, as I instructed that for the tailor to do. The last one is a Uniqlo straight cut pant in moss green. For this one, I decided to go for like a chino or carrot pant finish.

If you happen to find a really good pair of pants from thrift shops but the fit is off, try it get repaired from your trusted tailor. You will get what you want at a reasonable cost and still having a customised fit. I rummage for pants with quality fabric and has a great fit from the waist so that you will still retain the design of the trouser. But whatever, you still are the ultimate decision maker.

These are how they look now and I am beyond elated with the result. I didn’t take pictures from the unaltered look.
