The Summer Salt

Although it’s almost summer all year round here in the Philippines, it’s still the most fun season of the year. A perfect excuse to just dress like your at home. With just a tank top, shorts, and flipflops and you’re good to go. And when you say summer, you instantly think of the beach. Right so...

The colour story of the summer season are usually bright tones to pastels. Neons are also making the waves now. Most of the time, people think that to wear white or something neon against a tanned skin is a perfect suicide. Like to look darker as you are, Filipinos have that thinking but I am wrecking that. Let’s embrace and love our colour. We should wear whatever we want for as long as we are comfortable with it and still be able to reflect our own personal style.

The taste of summer is always sweet but the beach tells us otherwise. Well, literally that is. hehe.

Boston Selfies myself. Haha

I miss these two! Shirley and Cath! :)

The one that got away.

I can make a delicacy out of the sand! Polovoron. lol

Yes what?

I am totally in love with these shots. I just used the timer here. Love.

About the look:

The top yellow shirt is from Folded & Hung. The checkered top is thrifted. The green board shorts is from Roxy and the khaki brown shorts was purchased from Surplus shop. Flip flops by Havaianas.

The photos were just selfies and timer-powered. And everything is dated. Surprisingly, they are amazing! I especially love the back shots. :)

Taking Chances

During my first day in Baguio City, my friends decided to have a photo shoot. It was such a cool, breezy, fun and crazy day. I felt like a star for a moment.

The denim top is thrifted which I bought for 200 pesos. I decided to hype the top by installing metal studs to mimic the collar tips as shown from my previous DIY post, Let’s Get The Party Studded. It proved to be a great decision. This look was inspired by David Guison, a note-worthy fashion blogger. I like how the whole look came together. I must admit this is not within my comfort zone. The printed socks and shoes are a signature look from David Guison. The socks were from MEMO and the Oxford shoes are especially custom made. I am glad that I took the extra mile with this look. Thank you David G. for the style inspiration.

Thank you to RM Photography for gladly capturing our craziness and allure. Haha. Kudos! You can seek his service thru RM Photography.

Don't forget to hype this look on Lookbook.nu/knyfortaleza.

Lesson learned: If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.

From Baguio with Love

Work does make one go nuts. Luckily, I got my sanity back. I was so stressed out and tired working from the last quarter of December until the end of January so I thought of having a cool off from work.

My friends and I went on a 3-day vacation in the City of Pines, Baguio City located north of the Philippines. It is a great place to unwind and to get inspired. I haven't been to Baguio in ages so having to go there again is quite a thrill plus a freezing weather(for me that is). Having said that, we kicked off our first day with a trip at the famous Burnham Park and we did a photo shoot. Of course, I did pack all my nice goodies for this. Haha. The climate was really a challenge. Some of my friends went with a sleeveless dress that did gave them quite a cold shoulder. Literally. Haha.

 A view from our place.

 Burnham Park

We had a not-so-cool incident at a local restaurant, Good Taste. Though it really lived up to its name. The waiter was passing by our table holding a tray full of glasses of iced tea, when he accidentally spilled everything on our table and unfortunately on us too. I don't know what's worse, to get spilled by boiling cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea in an 8 degree weather? Lol It caused me and my friends to feel a little maddened by the whole situation. Of course. But we decided to move on so as not to spoil the night.

We concluded the night with a shopping trip at the night market. All in all we headed home with glee. It really is more fun in the Philippines. Isn't it?

The pictures were just captured with my 5MP Blackberry Bold 9780 camera phone. They look so fine.
