Selfie Wars at the Oscars

But this years Oscars was so entertaining and funny because of the exceptional injection of humour by Ellen Degeneres. Such a great host! I hope she hosts the Oscars next year too and the next next year and the next. Haha.

Ellen did a selfie with the biggest stars of Hollywood to make history of having the most retweets. And it was history indeed! It got 2.6 million retweets as of this writing.  Not only that, Ellen also ordered pizza to the most likely hungry hollywood stars and she really did brought in a real pizza boy! hahaha! Super cool. It’s so nice to see these people to act so normal like humans should. I mean of course. But its just so entertaining to see them all eat pizza. Oh I want some too! :(

#HelpThePhilippines

Hi everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about this fundraising campaign for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda in the Philippines.
As you well know, the Category-5 super typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda decimated the entire Central Philippines a couple of days ago. To date, the death toll for one of the towns that was hit badly by the typhoon has been estimated at 10,000 (and counting). Casualties from other towns and cities have yet to be reported.
I am not affiliated with any non-profit organization currently and just spearheading this relief fund campaign on my own - using any resources possible to do so. I have contacted a few local restaurants, shops and other business owners in my area to help raise additional funds for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
I started a crowd-funding relief campaign online via Fundly. My goal is only to race $5,000 so that it's very attainable. Any monetary contribution will be greatly appreciated by the Filipinos who were affected by this horrible disaster. Right now the relief fund will be used for food, medical supplies and other basic necessities. I will, of course, liaise and coordinate with the Philippine organizations who work directly with the victims. Please share and post this on your social media sites. Every dollar and "share" will go a long way. Your influence on social media will greatly help spread this fundraiser. This is the time to give back to a necessary and noble cause.
I really appreciate anything that you can give.
Sincerest,
Rallie Limbitco & Kenny Fortaleza

Caution: Work in Progress

Although my life and my blogging stint is still a work in progress. Words of inspiration like this makes me even more inspired to better myself and continue to grow. There are no small things in every work we do. Everything is a piece of a puzzle that won’t be complete without. From my Massimo Dutti post last week, I got this tweet from Massimo Dutti. This definitely fuelled my passion to be better and move further.

Thanks so much! #inspired

Full Throttle Shopping Failure

This a repost of my last week’s post. I just want to make it still searchable in Google and other search engines for everyone to know. As I may put it, it was barred from the Google search engine for the purpose that I assumed to be true. Being a business mogul, people have ways to shut stuff up and my blog is evidently not an exception. Dropping bombs from my last weeks post, I think this was the reason. And so I am reblogging it. Suck this!

Last April 28, I bought an Urban Luggage from SM City Pampanga during their sale worth 3, 000 pesos. Before I purchased it, I raised my observation that the wheels aren’t going smoothly as expected so the sales representative sent me to the Department store(because the sale was held at the warehouse) to put on some lubricant on the wheels. They said that it was because its an old stock. June 7, while I was inspecting the wheels, I found out that the two front wheels are not rolling as they are supposed to. And my receipt was missing already. I voiced this complaint to SM City Pampanga’s twitter account.

I can’t just sit at home and do nothing so without ado I went to SM Pampanga first to ask if they will still accept replacement even without a receipt and so the sales representative said yes and told me to bring the luggage and so I did the same day. Only to find out that he will just put on lubricant to the wheels. He showed me options for replacement which are horrible. I was in utter rage because I went there just for that? And to think how far I traveled just to get there. A bad one hour travel via PUV plus the fact that I am carrying something like a big cross.

Then I received a reply few days after and tweeted me this:

@SMCityPampanga: @Kenny4taleza Sir, kindly DM your contact info so The SM Store can get in touch with you. Thank you.

So I tweeted my number. I received a call from Ms. Lei, the branch manager after 3 days and told me that she received an email regarding my complaint and I aired my story. She kindly said that I can go with the replacement and if I decide to go and have my suitcase replaced, to inform her so that the voucher could be prepared. I appreciated this effort, coming even from the brach manager herself. I felt important as a customer.

I had a date with my friends Saturday June 15 at SM Pampanga, and so I thought to drop by at the luggage department and look for a good replacement. I spotted a suitcase that I want. The sales personnel called Ms. Lei and we had a little talk. Told them that I’ll be coming back the next day with my luggage.

Yesterday, I was getting ready to go the mall. I called it extra challenge part two. The most gruelling part was the travel, the hassle, the inconvenient truth.( please laugh) But I was not happy. Arrived at the mall, and I went directly to the luggage department. They did their thing there and all. The luggage was Super Light as labelled on the front. Inspected the suitcase. So there I got the new luggage with the same URBAN luggage brand. I went home. At home, I tried to put my things to see how it is. To my horror, I found a tear near the ridge of the suitcase. I was flabbergasted. Does this mean that the suitcase was really super light? As in super light quality? I can’t believe this tragedy happened to me. Fury at its peak. What have I done to deserve this? Immediately, I called mom and we rented a vehicle going to SM Pampanga. That costed us so much that I don’t want to think or talk about it. As I couldn’t afford to get stressed out riding a PUV. Upon getting there, I just exploded and didn’t care people staring and eavesdropping. The managers were there. They tried to console me but I was consumed by my anger. That was the third time!! Not even second. Third!! So disappointing. Wait no that’s not the word. No, it’s like no words couldn’t describe this.

Ms. Lei was calling on my mobile phone. I recounted to her what happened. To her chagrin, she was shocked and was apologising about the terrible horrible incident. She gave me options. I can make a full refund, or another replacement. But I just stuck with the original suitcase that I returned which was way better than the second one. I just appreciated that the managers where kind and warm.

Please review your products. This Urban luggage brand needs to get their act together and do something about this. Because I am not keeping my mouth shut about this. I might also be a negligent shopper for not meticulously checking these items but my god shouldn’t these products be at their finest condition before they hit the stores?

This is traumatising.

Her Dream Is Not Just One Summer

Julie Anne San Jose has been in the industry for quite some time already. But last year, her star shined its might and was able to capture the limelight via her viral YouTube video wherein she sang a version of Nicki Minaj’s Superbass. The support was overwhelming with over 15 million to date. I think this was Julie’s claim to fame rather what others insinuate. I have tracked her career since her entry to Pop Star Kids, a reality singing competition for young children where she won as a runner-up to Rita Iringan, the season champion. Until a group was formed called Sugar Pop. Runner ups and the champion were joined into one and they also had an album. But this didn’t make Julie’s star get noticed, although it did pave way for better things to come.

This is her Youtube hit, cover of Nicki Minaj’s Superbass.

She was paired with Elmo Magalona, the son of the Late Francis M., the Master Rapper. JULIELMO is their popular love team tag name. They had an instant spark and chemistry really was obvious. I can say that of all the love teams that I have seen on TV, their team up was the most spontaneous without being too gimmicky with it. Although there is no real relationship between them this didn’t affect their love team. It even got stronger following. In addition, even if Elmo is in a relationship with Lauren Young, truly what they have is unstoppable.

Together they also reigned the social media giant, Twitter. They have numerously trended over Twitter with both having massive fan base and followers. They were even named by KC Montero as “The Trending Machine” as they don’t fail to trend whenever they perform on Party Pilipinas, a musical variety show.  On Party Pilipinas, they were featured in a play called WAZAK which showcased both their acting  chops and singing prowess. Red Note which is a mini movie shown on Party Pilipinas to introduce their performance was a sure-fire proof that they got what it takes. In Filipino, it’s KILIG!! Okay, that’s cheesy. haha.

When it rains, it really pours. From various TV projects to the movies, and just recently Julie is seen again on the silver screen but this time top billing a movie with Elmo, titled Just One Summer.  I am so proud of Julie! And at last, she released her first self titled album under GMA Records. Impressively topping the iTunes chart and major record bars, her album is a certified hit. Her singles are scattered over the top 200 charts on iTunes. "I’ll Be There", the carrier single of her album claimed the throne with its release. Currently, as of this writing her second single “Enough” is at number 1 on MYX. Impressive!! Also on top of that, she has won several awards too!

She really is super talented. Julie raps very well, sings exceptionally, acts well and almost conquering all media. I know she has super adorable personality which sends a lot of people to like her and love her. I hope to see her in person!

Here is a fantastic fan made lyric video from John Mark Legacion of her second single ENOUGH.

AWESOME! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
