Happy All Hallow’s Eve!

This year’s Halloween I took a pass from the festivities and costume parties. I think I am growing and maturing. I really like Halloween but the fondness will fade as we age. Anyways, enjoy trick-or-treating kiddos!! Have fun.

I want some candies. I’ll go knock on your porch and get my treats! Haha

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Birthday Look

Yes it is that one day of the year when everyone seems to be happy. And now I am ambivalent about this change. I am 26. Whew, time gets unnoticed when you have a lot of things on the table. It is what it is. Haha. Let us just enjoy what life gives us. I am happy to be surrounded by my family and friends.

Let’s party!

Moving on, I love this outfit. Actually, I have tried this look from weeks back during my dress rehearsals in my room haha. When I am bored and in the mood. This maroon top from American Boulevard, the pants from a thrift shop but is a Uniqlo pant and the sexy Oxford shoes was custom made for me.  The ultra dependable MSense bag from SM Department store. I tried to step out of my comforts and tried this tucked in look accented with a slim belt. Sorry for my hair, I hate my hair right now and I didn’t bother styling it. I am so lazy. haha

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Thank you guys for sticking around and visiting my blog.

Drop some comments so we can share things. Alright?

Her Dream Is Not Just One Summer

Julie Anne San Jose has been in the industry for quite some time already. But last year, her star shined its might and was able to capture the limelight via her viral YouTube video wherein she sang a version of Nicki Minaj’s Superbass. The support was overwhelming with over 15 million to date. I think this was Julie’s claim to fame rather what others insinuate. I have tracked her career since her entry to Pop Star Kids, a reality singing competition for young children where she won as a runner-up to Rita Iringan, the season champion. Until a group was formed called Sugar Pop. Runner ups and the champion were joined into one and they also had an album. But this didn’t make Julie’s star get noticed, although it did pave way for better things to come.

This is her Youtube hit, cover of Nicki Minaj’s Superbass.

She was paired with Elmo Magalona, the son of the Late Francis M., the Master Rapper. JULIELMO is their popular love team tag name. They had an instant spark and chemistry really was obvious. I can say that of all the love teams that I have seen on TV, their team up was the most spontaneous without being too gimmicky with it. Although there is no real relationship between them this didn’t affect their love team. It even got stronger following. In addition, even if Elmo is in a relationship with Lauren Young, truly what they have is unstoppable.

Together they also reigned the social media giant, Twitter. They have numerously trended over Twitter with both having massive fan base and followers. They were even named by KC Montero as “The Trending Machine” as they don’t fail to trend whenever they perform on Party Pilipinas, a musical variety show.  On Party Pilipinas, they were featured in a play called WAZAK which showcased both their acting  chops and singing prowess. Red Note which is a mini movie shown on Party Pilipinas to introduce their performance was a sure-fire proof that they got what it takes. In Filipino, it’s KILIG!! Okay, that’s cheesy. haha.

When it rains, it really pours. From various TV projects to the movies, and just recently Julie is seen again on the silver screen but this time top billing a movie with Elmo, titled Just One Summer.  I am so proud of Julie! And at last, she released her first self titled album under GMA Records. Impressively topping the iTunes chart and major record bars, her album is a certified hit. Her singles are scattered over the top 200 charts on iTunes. "I’ll Be There", the carrier single of her album claimed the throne with its release. Currently, as of this writing her second single “Enough” is at number 1 on MYX. Impressive!! Also on top of that, she has won several awards too!

She really is super talented. Julie raps very well, sings exceptionally, acts well and almost conquering all media. I know she has super adorable personality which sends a lot of people to like her and love her. I hope to see her in person!

Here is a fantastic fan made lyric video from John Mark Legacion of her second single ENOUGH.

AWESOME! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

Denim Darko

Do you have a pair of jeans that you have loved before but not anymore? And you still can not let it go. I have a simple remedy for that. Old jeans will fade out in time. Dyeing is the answer. This will save it from potential handing it down to whoever. I have a favourite pair of jeans that I purchased circa 2009 that I still want to stay in my closet. My friends even tease me that they want to have my jeans but I just shrug it off. Haha. This is the perfect time to salvage it by dyeing it dark.

You will need:

1. Dye - available in powder and liquid form

2. Stainless Basin

3. Salt

4. Pair of gloves

5. Tongs

6. Jeans

Here’s what you need to do:

Step 1

Wear protective gears like gloves and apron to prevent it from staining your clothes.

Using boiled water, dissolve the dye powder in a small stainless container. In my case, I used the powdered form but there are liquid dyes available of course. You will need to add a lot of dyes here to achieve a darker shade. Here I used 6 packets of blue dye.

Step 2

Pour in water into the stainless basin that can cover up the entire fabric and boil it. While waiting for the water to boil, wash the fabric to remove any finishes that may prevent absorption of the dye.

Step 3

When the water boils, pour the dissolved dye. You need to put on 2 tbsp. of salt for every gallon of water you put in the dye bath.

Step 4

Then, put the article into the dye bath. It is important that the jean is fully submerged in water to allow equal shades of dyeing. Continuously stir the garment for 15 to 20  minutes using a ladle or a tong.

Step 5

Take out the fabric from dye bath using a tong because the jeans is now smoking hot. You don’t want to burn your hands. Squeeze out excess dye. Run it through the water until the water runs clear. Wring out the fabric for excess water and iron it until dry.

And your good to go!

I love love the result!

The Best Comes From Random Things

I love it when I don’t have generous time to think what my outfit would be for a particular event or night out. The best ensembles come out when I do not think too much. Well, that is certified true even for exams! haha. Don’t give me so much time because I will surely make the most out of it.

What I wore: thrifted plaid shirt, MTI striped shirt, tailor made wool shorts, Glads sandals from Oxygen

This is what I wore to a catch-up coffee treat by Doc Jess, the kindest and sweetest Doc we know! I am thrilled to get to talk to her since she started her training 2 years ago and it has been a while.

I’m Fully Booked!

For the most part, I can only count in one hand days where I did not go out. Yes, as the title implies I am fully booked. Got part time jobs left and right, night outs with friends and career moving agendum! And today was no exception.  I was in Bulacan, a province in the Philippines for an annual physical examination of a company.

I was photographed against the St. John The Baptist Church, the oldest in existence in the province. The intricate details and carvings on the church’s entrance was really breathtaking. No one will contest with that. A common belief here in the PI is to make a wish when it is your first time to go to a church and so I did. Haha.

As for my outfit, even at work I still try to inject my style. I call this look “SCRUB CHIC”. I am in all black from head to toe. Wearing my dependable TOMS black burlaps and a carrot pants sealed the look in crisp.

Hell of a Month

I was supposed to publish this a week ago but then I thought I might entitle this post with "Hell Month”. Because it has been and will be but I ain’t complaining! Octoberiffic it is!

Last week welcomed me with an explosion of appointments. Monday started with a graveyard shift work at the hospital. It ended with a very controversial meeting with co-employees that tackled serious issues related to work. I haven’t slept enough so I was really eager to get out of the meeting and I did.

At 11 AM of Tuesday, I got out of the hospital. With a strict intention to look fresh and hot (haha) as I can before my meet up with my special best friend Mads who just got back from the U.S. and my other best mates Audrey and Cente. I caught some sleep and I headed out again. And there we all met. We had the best time!

Let’s Get This Party Studded

Studs are perfect in making an outfit look edgier and have that rock and roll chic look. I have not explored the idea of incorporating them into my clothes until last Monday. On Facebook, I posted a picture of metal studs and asked to where I can get some. Lucky enough, I managed to find some at a local store in the city. Metal studs are best placed on jeans and leather. Jeans are a tough fabric so putting on studs will not destroy it that much. It can also be used in glamming up bags or shoes.

Just need to experiment on your outfits. Not only with jeans but you can also do this with your bags, tops and others.

Materials

Metal Studs
Screwdriver
Jeans

Steps
1. I thought of making them as collar tips. So I laid them first if how many could fit in. You will have to think of where to place your studs first.

 2. I drew a triangle in the collar so I filled them all. Just be careful to not prick yourself because the studs have pointed metal teeth.

In my case, I chose to edge up my jean shirt. You can play up where you want to put it on. So this is how it looks now.

For questions and suggestions just drop them on the comments section. :)
